ORGANISERS of a major cycling event in London are appealing for marshals to help inexperienced cyclists.
The Sky Sports Freewheel on September 21 will see thousands of people cycling free-of-charge past the capital's most iconic landmarks during a 12km bike ride to promote London's cycle network.
Event organisers are calling on Bromley residents to volunteer to marshal the bike route which will be closed to non-cycle traffic for the day.
Marshals will be required to work from 8am until 7pm on the day as well as two hours over the coming weeks for a training and briefing session.
They will give less experienced cyclists advice and direct them along the route.
Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, said: "We are hoping that as many regular riders as possible from Bromley will join the fun and give a bit of their time to make the day a huge success."
