Jury out in doctor murder trial

12:12pm Tuesday 19th August 2008

THE jury in the trial of a murdered doctor has retired to consider its verdict.

Dr Victoria Anyetei was stabbed 57 times outside her home in Teynham Road, Dartford, on August 14 last year.

Twenty-two-year-old David Quartey is standing trial for the frenzied attack on the mother of one which left her dead at the wheel of her car.

Quartey, of Humber Road, Dartford, has denied killing the consultant paediatrician.

The jury at Maidstone Crown Court has previously been told by Quartey that he "loved" and respected her "like a mum".

He had lived at the house in Teynham Road since July 2005 after arriving in the UK.
