A 30-YEAR-old man was arrested this morning in Sydenham in connection with the murder of a former Bromley student.
Nilanthan Murddi was stabbed in Sumner Road, Croydon, on Saturday (August 16).
The 17-year-old from New Addington was taken to Mayday Hospital, Croydon, after the incident at around 1.35am but was pronounced dead at 4.30am.
The man arrested today (August 19) is currently in custody at a south London police station.
Yesterday the family of the murdered teen paid tribute to Nilanthan, who was a pupil in the mixed sixth form at Langley Park School for Girls, Hawksbrook Lane, Beckenham until last December.
His 18-year-old sister Santhiya said: "He was outgoing, bubbly and energetic and always willing to do things for other people. We were very close."
