YOUNGSTERS in remission from cancer came from Belarus to be shown round London by a charity.
The Chernobyl Children's Project paid for 10 children to have a holiday in the UK and a break from the contamination in their native country caused by the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.
During the trip, they were hosted in London by the Bromley branch which took the youngsters aged eight to 14 to attractions including the London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Tower of London and Buckingham Palace.
The children were given a lavish meal by volunteers at Emmanuel Church, The Grove, West Wickham and stayed the night there.
Bromley co-ordinator, Liz Hodgman, said: "We have some wonderful memories of some truly amazing children. Their delight at all the new experiences, at receiving the smallest of gifts and their enthusiasm and excitement at life in general."
