Children battling for football victory

FOOTSCRAY Lions, a Bexley-based football club with more than 300 members is hosting its annual two-day football tournament this weekend.

The event will involve 114 teams with an age range of six to 16 and is being staged at Bexley Grammar School in Danson Lane, Welling.

Members of the public are welcome to watch the knockout tournament which begins at 9.30am on Saturday and Sunday.

The first rounds of the tournament take place on Saturday (26th) with the quarter and semi-finals and the finals in each age group being played on Sunday (27th), also starting at 9.30am.

Teams from across the home counties will be competing.

Refreshments will be available and admission is by programme and costs £1.
