A 56-YEAR-OLD project manager who "was fearful of his future" was found hanged in his home.
Croydon Coroner's Court heard that Anthony Gillett, of Percival Road, Orpington, had been suffering clinical depression following the failure of his marriage and going through a divorce.
His neighbour Colin Higgs told the inquest he found Mr Gillett partly lying on the floor with a belt around his neck and his shoulders against a doorframe on March 21.
And his GP, Dr Rachel White from the Crofton Surgery in Crofton Road, Orpington, said: "He was fearful of his future but he later became more upbeat and positive.
"He had been wondering how he would pay his mortgage when he retired."
Recording a verdict Mr Gillett killed himself, coroner Dr Roy Palmer said: "He appeared to know what he was doing and intended to end his life."
