A 20-YEAR-OLD Catford woman accused of causing the death of her newborn son has appeared in court in Crete.
Leah Andrew, of Minard Road, is charged with infanticide.
It is understood the magistrate will now decide if she should be released on bail ahead of her trial.
Andrew, who has two other children, is reported to have given birth in a hotel room in Malia on Monday.
It is understood a coroner found the child had died of asphyxiation.
Andrew was on holiday with friends but it is reported that she had not told them she was pregnant.
A spokesman for Lewisham Council said: "This is a very tragic situation and our thoughts are with the family.
"We will be supporting the family and working with them to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Miss Andrew's two other children."
