Accused: Leah Andrew

A 20-YEAR-OLD woman charged with causing the death of her baby in Crete will appear in court tomorrow.

The woman, reported to be Leah Andrew from Minard Road, Catford, has been charged with infanticide.

It is believed she gave birth in a Malia hotel room where she was staying with friends, and was found bleeding heavily.

Greek police are quoted as saying the child was found dead in the hotel room covered in sheets.

A coroner found the child had died of asphyxiation, according to reports.

A spokesman for the Foreign Office confirmed they are providing consular assistance.
