Update: Two car crash in Hayes
A MOTORIST was taken to hospital after two cars crashed in Hayes last night (July 16).
The accident happened in Westmoreland Road at the junction with Pickhurst Lane when a blue Nissan Primera and a silver Subaru Impreza were in collision at 7.15pm.
An ambulance was called to take a 31-year-old man who was travelling in the silver car to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough.
He was discharged shortly afterwards and then arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
The suspect is in custody at Bromley police station.

No mention of the fact the man was climbed out of the car window and tried to leave the scene of the accident. He was then overpowered by members of the public until the police arrived at the scene, large quantitys of cash on his person and in the car.

The man driving was arrested, and charged with actual bodily harm. Barnfield Wood Road was closed unitl the early hours of the morning. Story is completely inaccurate

Barnfield Wood Road was closed because they were doing a thorough inspection of the car. They were in white suits.
The people who overpowered the suspect did have to go to hospital. Again more to this than meets the eye.

I heard the guy who was taken to hospital stole the silver car. A policeman travelled in the ambulance with him. They haven't done their research very well.

You have to remember that the newspaper will only be able to report what they first hear. This type of news will come as a tip off and it will only be later that a news release from the police will give more accurate information.
Do you honestly think there is a reporter on ever street corner in England waiting to cover an incident if it were to occur?

It would have been reported to the newspaper by the police as a simple car accident. Unless tell them any different, how are they supposed to know there more to it? Do you think they have crystal balls or are telepathic? Perhaps instead of bleating on about it on here, one of you know-it-alls could have contacted the newspaper to give them what you think you know.

Not patronising at all. I was trying to make the point that the story is not inaccurate in that it was obviously reported using the details available to the newspaper at the time. What they were lacking was some extra details to embelish it, which you could have provided instead of choosing to come on here and moan about it being inaccurate.

Harry, the last sentence of the story states that no road was closed. Barnfield Wood Road was closed. That's inaccurate. Also the other car driver did need hospital treatment. Two facts wrong in a very short story. If the press wish to pretend they print the truth then they should research a story before they publish rather than write verbatim a tip off. That's my point.

Funny thing is, there was a very similar incident at New Eltham early yesterday evening as well, it also involved a burglar driving like a loon, a road rageee who gave the burglar a good tonking but got arrested himself for criminal damage and assault!

i drove past just after it happened and it looked awful, i saw a guy laying on the floor and thought the public were trying to save his life rather than keep hold of him. To think i even had to pull over cause i felt so shaken up seeing him lay like that when really i should have been hunting through his boot to see what i could find ha

what frank just said is all right, the boy who ran after the man and stopped him was my mate. he broke his hand while stopping him and has a bite mark on his arm.
