Marcus Hamilton, jailed for four years

THREE men have been jailed after they admitted supplying crack cocaine and heroin to undercover police officers.

They were sentenced to a total of 12-and-a-half years in prison yesterday (May 19) at Croydon Crown Court.

The trio were arrested on February 13 as part of Bromley police's Operation Prada, set up to target Class A drug dealers in Penge.

Andrew Wallace, aged 41, of Raleigh Road, Penge, was jailed for four years for supplying crack cocaine and heroin on three occasions in January in Cottingham Road, Penge.

Wallace has 17 previous convictions for 29 offences and had last been released from prison in September last year after serving eight weeks for breaching a restraining order.

Marcus Hamilton, aged 37, of Penge Road, Penge, was jailed for four years for supplying crack cocaine on three occasions in January and February in Jasmine Road and Maple Road in Penge.

He was also ordered to forfeit £2,980 in cash and his Renault Megane car as proceeds of crime.

Hamilton was arrested at his home where nearly 200 grams of crack cocaine and almost £3,000 in cash were found.

David Brown, also known as Marvin Stirling, aged 27, from Hackney, was jailed for four-and-a-half years. The Jamaican national was recommended for deportation after his sentence.

He was supplied undercover police officers with crack cocaine and heroin on four occasions in December and January in Oakfield Road and Cottingham Road, Penge.

All three men had pleaded guilty to supplying drugs.

Detective Sergeant Gary Gornell, of Bromley CID, said: "This operation has proved to be a major success in our fight against drug-related crime.

"Drug dealing is one of the public's main concerns and we intend to continue our efforts and target suspected drug dealers."

I agree, great job by the police. However I don't think that we'll start sorting this country out until we sack these liberal judges and get some decent ones instead.

I just find it strange that these guys got a sentence of years when someone convicted of taking someones life (see other stories today) gets 17 months in prison - i know drug dealing is bad but surely murder is worse? Sentences should reflect the crime (LIFE MEANS LIFE!!)

The police only tell you what they want you 2 know and every1 just jump to conclusions and make up their mind. The same way the system allows people to come into the country they should allow them to work and they would not need to be going out and there and committing crimes.
