Woman stole from Good Samaritan
 |
| Pamela Fay took an elderly woman's money and wallet |
A FRAUDSTER has been jailed after stealing from an elderly woman who was trying to help her.
Pamela Fay, of Thrywitt Road, Brockley, told the 81-year-old she was locked out and asked if she could borrow £20 to get to Dartford. She also asked for a glass of water.
While the pensioner, who lives in Brockley, was getting her a drink, 28-year-old Fay snatched her money and wallet.
Fay pleaded guilty to two burglary offences, breaching a community rehabilitation order and two counts of breaching an Asbo.
She was sentenced to three years and three months in jail at Blackfriars Crown Court on May 9.
Since June 2006, she has committed 22 offences. These include nine of making false representation to gain property.
They were carried out in Lewisham and mainly involved stealing off the elderly.
Fay also has convictions for deception and handling stolen goods.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Alex Brown, of Lewisham police, said: "Pamela Fay singled out particularly vulnerable victims to ply her trade against.
"She abused their good nature to gain entry to their premises and then stole from them.
"The sentence imposed is proportionate to the crimes she has committed and it should be noted by the criminals of Lewisham police pursue this type of crime vigorously."
Detective Inspector Alison Funnell, the head of Lewisham's burglary squad, said: "Distraction burglars prey on the most vulnerable victims, abusing their trust in society.
"Individuals often steal sentimental items which are of little worth but are irreplaceable."
Fay's Asbo applies in the M25 area and stops her from going to residents' homes to ask for money or approaching a member of the public who is not a family member to ask for money.
She was released from custody on February 5 after being sentenced to a combined community and drug referral order for three years.
But on March 28 she carried out the burglary in Brockley, and was later picked out by the elderly woman at an identity parade.

While we are at it, let's amputate one of her legs so that she can't make a quick getaway next time!

i would have thrown the glass of water at the grotty woman instead of giving her one to drink... looks like she could do with a proper ggod wash.

It is a shame the old lady had not boiled the kettle and did not have the time or the strength to pour scalding water over this con artist, relieving her of her skin!

Just one of many low life scum bags we have in this country, put them all to sleep I say, it would save us tax payers bundles and protect the frail and vulnerable at the same time.

I don’t agree with the what PF has done, but the comments that all of you have made about amputating arms, legs and putting people to sleep suggest that you are scum as you are coming up with these comments on how other human beings should be treated, in my book that makes you no better than what she has done!!!. Instead of condemning people who have committed these offences maybe you should consider that they might need some help or guidance which they have never received.

I knew this woman and i am not condoning what she has done, but she has had a really tough time and to be be honest as a mum if i had suffered how she has i think i would turn to drugs to take the pain away.
You people really have to think what are the reasons behind all this!
I hope that nothing so bad happens to you or your friends that you can't see a light at the end of the tunnel and seek solice in drugs or drink.
pam needs help that she never got before not persecution.
