Different incident!

There was a body in the canal just by Windrush School, that is what the air ambulance was for!

Not sure if the bloke is ok, but News Shopper prob won't report on it.

Why wouldn't a newspaper report on a body in a canal?

Alice, thanks for your comments. I would like to point out News Shopper covers south east London and north Kent, not the whole south east of England, so anything from outside our area would not be reported. Our reporters can only do what they can do in the time that they have each week, and obviously we rely on actually being told about or hearing about things which have happened.

I would be very interested to know of any newsworthy incidents which we have not reported. And if you are interested in reporting the news from where you live then please go to our Your Shopper section - we are looking for people like you!

We're looking into this but so far information has been hard to come by. We will report anything on this as we get it.

If you have any specific information about this incident then please email me at sbull@london.newsque

There was a very bad accident on Saturday afternoon on the A102/A12 between the Sun in the Sands roundabout & Blackwall Tunnel, northbound carriageway.

The whole road was blocked by police, ambulance & fire brigade. Looks like they had to cut one of the cars up to get the people out. The traffic was at a standstill back as far as Westhorne Avenue I believe. It was like this for hours but havent read any report in your paper or a rival of yours.

Do you have any info on this?

Simon, I was referring to SE London not Kent or Surrey!

I know myself and others report stories to your office but you never seem to report on them. Are you restricted by the police?

I am happy to feed you stories but I am no Journalist.

There is one story that springs to mind and I suppose there is a bit of humour behind it! Some blocks of flats in Thamesmead were without water last week for 3 days due to theft of water pipes that run under the flats. They also damaged the water pumps and must have been working for hours to take the pipes out over night!

If you require more info contact Gallions HA as they were dealing with the incident.

Paul - Thanks very much for details of the crash. It wasn't an incident our web reporters knew about from the weekend so I've asked one of them to look into it to see if we can get some details. If you are ever on the scene of something again please give us a call on 01689 885703 as it happens or text us at 80360, keyword NEWS SHOPPER. We can often get something online within minutes, which may help other people travelling through the area.

Alice - Again, thanks for visiting our website and passing on details of those couple of things.

As nice as it would be, we cannot be everywhere at once or know about everything which happens, so we do rely on helpful people such as yourself telling us about things. It's especially useful to know about something at the time of it happening so we can keep our website up-to-date. As well as news tip-off, we also very much appreciate pictures and videos being sent in - and we do offer a monthly prize for contributions as a way to say thank-you.

If we have ever not reported something you have told us about previously, I can only think it was because we could not find out enough about it to do a story at the time or something else stopped us doing a story, such as legal reasons. We do appreciate every call we receive to tell us about something that has happened.

With the emergency services, it can be difficult sometimes, especially at weekends. We are quite often only alerted to incidents when something major has happened and somebody has died or when witnesses are needed. Sometimes the flow of information could be better but then police officers, firefighters and paramedics do have other things to think about than just the press.

Anyway, thanks for your help and please do tell us anything you hear about.
