    Boris Johnson
    Boris Johnson

BORIS Johnson has been confirmed as the new Mayor of London.

Tory candidate Mr Johnson has ended Ken Livingstone's eight-year reign at City Hall.

Mr Johnson won a massive victory in the Bexley and Bromley area which appeared to have set him up for overall success in the mayoral race.

In this constituency Mr Johnson won 122,052 first-choice votes, with Mr Livingstone getting just 40,670.

Mr Livingstone won most first-choice votes in Greenwich and Lewisham.

The Labour candidate's victory here was 63,043 votes to Mr Johnson's 51,151.

Mr Johnson won the overall mayoral contest when second-choice votes were taken into account.

His total first and second-choice votes was 1,168,738, with Mr Livingstone's overall total 1,028,966.

Voter turnout has been estimated to have been 45 per cent.

    London Assembly

James Cleverly has won the Bexley and Bromley seat for the Conservative Party.

His total was 105,162 votes, with Labour's Alex Heslop second with 29,925.

It's a bit worrying to see how many voted for BNP/NF in this area. Didn't realise we were living amongst so many racists! I'd rather live next door to an immigrant than a racist.

Anna - you are obviously a racist - even if it is a closet one, who prefers to think of herself as tolerant - don't make me laugh. And who do u think u r - just what decade are you living in? Red Ken? Red Labour? Hello - did you fall asleep for the Blair years? Boris Johnson, ha,ha,ha..

And just what decade are you living in calling BNP supporters racists?

The racist card doesn't work anymore dearie.

Brilliant that Kens out and Londoners money will be more fairly spent.

    Well done Boris, perfect result.

Worker - Nazi Germany probably thought exactly the same thing. Evil is timeless. Don't be fooled.

This is great news. Maybe Labour MPs and councillors will now understand that they will be thrown out of office if they don't think about ordinary hard working people. We've had enough of their dictatorial attitudes. They've wasted enough of tax payers money on the pampering of scum bags. London deserves a better deal.

Why do you assume anyone who votes BNP is racist? Have you ever heard of a protest vote? And there are plenty of immigrants who are racist.

For God's sake. I hope you're all proud of yourselves. I mean, have you never seen this man before or something? Look at him. He's a complete fool and he's going to make us look like fools too. And for what? So we can get routemasters back?

    Nice work.

So what if boris thinks bnp are racist, he could hardly say otherwise could he. If voting for a party that thinks about me and my family first for a change makes me a racist then ill just have to deal with it, just like you will !! Also how could julie not realise there were lots of bnp support in her area, they had a bookstore there, so if you want to live next door to an immigrant pack your bags and move to camberwell or east london im sure you'll be very happy.

    Oh so to care for the future of our children and unborn grandchildren is now rascist is it ?? RASCIST is a word that does not hurt anymore; Its over used and the only word the true fascists can say because you lot dont truly believe in democracy; Get Over It; People VOTED for the BNP; Good; People like Julie, Welling, are whats wrong with this country, not the BNP;

Glad to see my vote for Boris helped to get him into City Hall like so many others. Boris is here for the next 4 years whether you lot like it or not. As for Ken I loved watching his smug face shrivel when they announced Boris had defeated him! Bye bye Ken you sad pathetic little man!
