NEWS Shopper has uncovered what appears to be videos of youths in Bromley fighting and creating explosions.

A video clip on file sharing website YouTube showed what were believed to be teenagers brawling in Beckenham Recreation Ground.

The video, entitled 'girl getin banged in beck reck', clearly showed a girl kicking and stamping on another girl.

The clip, which was posted on February 17 and had been viewed 107 times, also contained lots of foul language.

Another video, called 'ELITE SET' showed what appeared to be a gang of eight youths from Penge, and was reminiscent of terrorists in Al-Qaeda videos.

It contained images of young men wearing hoods, masks and balaclavas.

The video, which was viewed 24 times, showed a mini explosion and finished with a shot of a Penge road sign.

Both videos had been posted by a 24-year-old YouTube user called mrrupt.

Penge and Cator Councillor Peter Fookes condemned the footage.

He said: "Some of these youngsters need to ask themselves a few questions.

"It's disgusting behaviour.

Cllr Fookes said there was a need to tackle the problem of gang culture.

He added: "It is worrying this video glamorises gang culture.

"We need to tackle this problem.

"The Penge video reminds me of Al-Qaeda with the music and the explosion."

A Bromley police spokesman said: "Unfortunately YouTube does tend to attract the less intelligent members of our community, along with those who have a vastly over-inflated opinion of their interest to others.

"These people attempt to draw attention to themselves in a variety of ways, often claiming to be part of something when they are not simply to impress their peers.

"Bromley police will not tolerate anyone committing crimes and video-recording their acts for posting on any of these worldwide moron multiplexes and those that do will end up damaging their lives by having to deal with a criminal record."

A YouTube spokesman said: "YouTube is a community site used by millions of people in very positive ways.

"Sadly as with any form of communication, there is a tiny minority of people who try to break the rules.

"When people see content that they think is inappropriate they can flag it and our staff then review it.

"If the content breaks our terms then we remove it and if a user repeatedly breaks the rules we disable their account."

Both videos have now been removed.
