Orpington is enjoying 15 minutes of fame after comedian Ricky Gervais poked fun at the town during a live webcast on his Facebook.
In response, residents took to social media to offer Gervais a tour of the town.
During the 20-minute video, Gervais admits he has no idea where Orpington is, while he discussed where people can go to watch his new film David Brent: Life on the Road.
He appeared confused about the name, chuckling as he said: “If you live in Orpington, I don’t know where Orpington is. I have never heard of it…but I like it.
“They ran out of words when they named that town.
“They went we have had Beckenham, we have had Greenwich, we have had Bexleyheath, Birmingham.”
"They run out of words when they made that name." - @rickygervais talking about Orpington. Love it.
