Our Cute Pets photo competition has now reached the halfway stage, with the selection of 10 picture-purr-fect pussycats to go through to the final.

Dozens of delightful photos were submitted as our search to find the south-east London and north Kent area’s most adorable animal moved on from dogs to cats.

Choosing just 10 moggies to put through to the final was even tougher than judging the dogs’ category but after much debate we have settled on our picks.

You can see the kitties that have been chosen in our gallery above.

If you want to see ALL the entries we got, you can flick through this gallery.

After stopping the reign of cats and dogs in our competition, we’re now moving on to the third and last heat for other miscellaneous pets.

We’re looking for photos of any animals that aren’t cats and dogs – it’s time for other furry friends along with scaly and feathered creatures to shine.

If there’s anything more unusual than a reptile, rodent, bird or fish that’s kept as a pet, that can enter the contest too.

Send us a picture of your pet if you think it’s cute enough to be our champion.

All the entries will be added to a gallery on our site and, after entry closes on June 21, we will choose our 10 favourite photos.

They will also go into the final, to be joined by the cats and dogs we’ve already put through.

Our overall winner will be decided when all 30 finalists are put to a public vote – with £75 and much glory going to the owner of the most popular pet, plus runners-up prizes up for grabs.

If you think your pet is the cutest out there, send us a picture and details using the entry form here

To enter, you need to live within the News Shopper area (the boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Dartford, Gravesham, Greenwich and Lewisham, plus certain other local places such as Swanley) and be at least 18 years old.
