From 4 Kinnell Court to Jackass Lane, we thought we had some pretty good rude place names in our area.

But we’re now prepared to admit that even the most snigger-worthy examples in south-east London and north Kent are put in the shade by other places around the country.

A poll of 2,000 people to discover the funniest place name in the UK has put the beautifully named village of Bell End in Worcestershire in the number one spot.

It beat off stiff competition from Brown Willy (the name of a hill in Cornwall) to take the honour.

In a mature, grown-up way, what we especially love about Bell End is that it’s located near to another place called Lickey End.

See below for the top 10 funniest place names compiled after the poll by insurance provider Swiftcover.
