Celebrate the Olympic opening weekend with an uplifting evening of top class music at the Proms in Dunloran Park in Tunbridge Wells on Saturday, July 28.

Featuring the renowned Kent Sinfonia,a 60-piece orchestra with exuberant conductor Paul Hoskins at the helm, this promises to be a superb evening of pure fun for the whole family.

The concert will also feature the glamorous Elektra Violin Duo and The Paul Dunton Orchestra.

Music fans are invited to take along a picnic and enjoy a fabulous evening of entertaining, featuring from classicial to jazz, popular and show music.

Elektra, otherwise known as leading violinists Hazel Ross and Caroline Subedi, have performed with a host of stars including Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle, Shirley Bassey, Bryn Terfel, Katherine Jenkins, Moloko and Michael Bublé, as well as many of Europe’s top orchestras.

The Paul Dunton Orchestra fuse classical and modern popular music, to produce a truly captivating sound. Paul’s distinctive arrangements combine the atmosphere of Elgar, Barber and Rachmaninov with the melodies of Bacharach, Joni Mitchell, Lennon-McCartney and Elbow.

Kent Sinfonia will conclude the evening with a stirring programme of patriotic Proms pieces and classical favourites.

Soprano Elinor Chapman will sing some operatic arias including Rule Britannia! The sinfonia, recently returned from a tour of South China, will bring the concert to a close with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 overture.
