THE GARDEN of a 245-year-old Georgian House in Higham will be opened for a tea party to raise money for a Northfleet charity.

Members of the public will be able to enjoy refreshments to the sound of the Dartford Concert Band in the garden of the Dairy Farm House, in Church Street, on June 17.

All money raised from the afternoon will be donated to the EllenorLions Hospice.

Among points of interest in the two-and-a-half-acre garden is a pair of 300-year-old yew trees, a fruit-producing mulberry tree and a cherry plum orchard.

The adjoining garden will also be open for children to play in and a number of further activities will be offered for younger visitors.

Visitors are welcomed between 2pm and 5pm and it costs £3 for adults to get in and £1 for children.
