Who in their right mind would want to gross-up their full English breakfast by putting avocado and asparagus in it?
Quite a lot of people it seems, based on the peculiar results of a survey released for Breakfast Week.
While four in 10 people still put the full English as their favourite first meal of the day, making it more popular than porridge, toast and cereal, nearly two thirds of people polled by online booking firm toprooms.com reckon it’s time to revamp the traditional line-up of ingredients.
Bacon and sausages (or vegetarian equivalents) along with eggs and beans quite rightly remain untouchables, but half of people would ditch tomatoes in favour of trendy avocados.
A similar percentage would drop mushrooms for asparagus.
Green stuff on a fry-up plate? Come on people, what’s the matter with you?
There are more weird choices, with a majority of respondents rejecting hash browns for sweet potatoes and preferring salmon to black pudding.
Are you still able to enjoy a full English these days? If so what are you preferences for what should and shouldn’t be included? Add your comments below.
