Is Lewisham home to Britain’s best burger? That’s what reviewers on TripAdvisor reckon, and who are we to argue?

The website compiled the reviews and opinions submitted by its travellers to find the best place to find the ten best-rated burgers in the nation.

And Rox Burger in Lee High Road topped the charts.

It was founded in 2014 by Fabrizio Bodnar Pires, a London chef hailing from Brazil, and serves a selection of classic fare recreated with a unique twist and a concept of ‘never frozen ingredients’.

“We take great pride in the quality of our burgers, so it is really rewarding to see so much positive feedback on TripAdvisor” said Marcela Pires, co-owner of Rox Burger.

“To be named the best rated burger in the UK is an incredible honour, especially since it is based on the ratings and reviews of those who matter most - our customers.”

Unsurprisingly, the burger joint scores five out of five bubbles on the review site from 174 reviews.

The latest, left by Patrick H from Rochester last Sunday said: “WOW! What a real good find. My partner's son took us out. This food is beyond belief. Try the sweet potato fries. Something else! I had blue cheese burger really good. Give them a try.”

TripAdvisor’s remaining restaurants in the top ten were: Meat59 in Torquay, Burger Brothers in Brighton, Burgers Off Broadway in Fulham, Boss Burgers in Leeds, Hub Box in Exeter, 6oz Burgers in Portsmouth, The Paget in Loughborough, Blackhorn in St Andrews and The Shack in Torquay.
