If there is one thing London is not known for its cheap rent, as any Londoner will know, the cost of living is not cheap.

With prices for a single room averagely starting at £700, it is nearly impossible to get an entire flat for less than £900.

Renting in London is not getting any cheaper either, with data from the Office of National Statistics finding that the average private rent in the capital has increased by 4.3% in the last year.

That includes many areas of South East London, with many boroughs now seeing the average asking price a month set at £1000.

But how much does £1000 can get you across South East London

Well, we thought we'd find out by comparing four boroughs across the region including, Bromley, Abbey Wood, Lewisham and Plumstead.
