Reader Geoff Billingsley reviews West End sensation, Jersey Boys

Jersey Boys tells the story, the whole, remarkably true story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. It is so good, I seriously wonder if there is a better show of its kind today in London. Ryan Molloy plays Frankie, shy young lad that he is. He hangs around a Happy Days-style diner and sings a song for the local gangster's mum, and finds himself straight into the good books of the bad people.

Bob Gaudio is played by Stephen Ashfield, Philip Bulcock is Nick Massi while Glenn Carter completes the band as Tommy DeVito.

Tommy is responsible for pulling the band together and for bringing in Frankie, but he is dangerous. He knows all the wrong people and has a gambling habit to be proud of. His irresponsible actions cause the band to have to play in places they shouldn't and for next to nothing.

The music is just amazing. The sound in the Prince Edward Theatre is perfection.

Remember Silhouettes by Herman's Hermits? Four Seasons did it first. Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, Walk Like a Man, Oh What a Night, My Eyes Adored You, and that's only the first half.

The second half is even better with Lets Hang On, Bye, Bye Baby, Working My Way Back To You and one of my favourites which I regularly trash on karaoke, Can't Take My Eyes Off You. Oh, What a Night.
