Reader Rosie Hickland, 13, reviews Secrets at The Orchard, Dartford
Secrets is about two girls - India, well off and lives in a big house and Treasure , not so well off and lives on a council estate - who live completely different lifestyles, meet by chance and soon become best friends.
I thought the way adult actors portrayed children worked very well.
The show was very good. I especially liked the actors Charlotte Allam and Benedict Martin who
doubled up to play two very different characters.
Benedict played a business man and kind dad in one scene and a violent, uncaring stepdad in another.
I also thought the way they used adults actor to portray children worked very well, they even looked like children.

The set was very weird. It consisted of towers covered with different materials and patterns to make the council estate.
The only aspect I felt didn't work so well, was when Wanda, India's au pair, and her dad Richard were meant to be having an affair. It was a bit confusing.
Even though it was different from anything I had seen before, it was still very well done.
The only aspect I felt didn't work so well, was when Wanda, India's au pair, and her dad Richard were meant to be having an affair.
The message did not come across clearly and there were not enough signs they were having an affair. It was a bit confusing.
The play is based on a novel and it worked really well on stage. The scenes and the characters are exactly as the book describes them too.
It all worked really well and I would definitely go and see it again.
