OLYMPIC boxing champion James DeGale is looking for an emphatic knockout when he fights at Bluewater on Saturday, November 16.

And News Shopper has teamed up with promoter Hennessey Sports to give away two pairs of tickets to the fight.

DeGale, who won gold in the 2008 Olympics and is the WBC Silver super middleweight champion, is fighting Dangerous Dyah Davis.

Talking to Vibe, he said: “The way I’m feeling, I’m just keen to go in there and get him out of the way within the 12 rounds, definitely.”

He added: “He’s a decent fighter, he’s 22-3, he’s been in there with some decent opposition. His second to last fight he went ten rounds with Sakio Bika, the current WBC champion, so he’s mixed it with some good quality fighters.”

And there’s than just bravado behind the fighter’s eagerness to finish the fight early, he’s keen to send a statement to the rest of the division.

George Groves – whose controversial points win is DeGale’s only loss – and Carl Froch face off this month and DeGale has his eyes on the victor.

He said: “I would like that, but I’m not too sure they would take a voluntary defence against me. It’s a risky fight.

“If I carry on winning and if he beats Carl Froch, that will be a massive fight in the next six months.”
