MOTOWN was certainly alive with my latest visit to The Churchill theatre, Bromley with the touring show Dancing In The Streets.
Packed with Motown favourites and tributes to all the greatest stars, a fine cast of 11 with a fantastic live band took to the stage to an eagerly waiting packed house.
Our compere for the evening was the hilarious Courtney Buchanan who was terrific, interacting with the audience with some great one liners, as well as a great voice. Buchanan was the perfect showman.
Other standout performances came from Sharn Adela and her tributes to Martha and the Vandellas, Gladys Knight.
With superb vocals, pizzazz and style, it was like watching the originals themselves.
Paul Hazel, who provided us with some superb tributes to Smokey Robinson, Lionel Ritchie, The Temptations and many more, had not only great vocals but authentic dance moves to match, and the cheesiest lycra suits.
Nathaniel Morrison was a terrific Stevie Wonder with Mouth Accordion to match.
All in all this was an energetic, slick production and if Motown was your era you are sure to be dancing in the aisles alongside a talented dedicated cast who really prove Motown is still alive.
