WITH Kate and Will’s royal baby due date rapidly approaching, Vibe is bringing you a guide to a great summer’s day out with your baby in the local area.

9am: Morning trip to a cafe

For the perfect start to the day, you can head to Mums and Darlings, on Days Lane in Sidcup.
Don’t worry, dads can come too – for a cafe breakfast or a simple morning coffee.

This new coffee shop specialises in bespoke cakes, offering a beautiful tea garden for you to enjoy on a warm summer’s day, welcoming mothers and their ‘little darlings’.

If you pop down on a Thursday morning, your child can take part in their Toddler Craft Day, where they can make something to take home as well as getting a small treat when they leave. This is for £2.50 per child.

The cafe has a separate children’s menu with perfect portions for a little one.

11am: Indoor soft play

For a more lively activity for your son or daughter, you can move on to Bexley and let them play at the Crayzee Barn at Woollett Hall Farm, on North Cray Road.

For £5.25, they can roam free, taking full advantage of the adventure play frame, astra and spiral slides and a dedicated baby and toddler area.

There is a cafe where you can sit and relax while your child spends their energy in a safe and fun environment.

12:30pm: Picnic in the park

After they have been thoroughly run-out, for lunch you can take a calmer trip to Farnborough , where you can go to High Elms Country Park on Shire Lane.

The park offers 250 acres of countryside to explore with footpaths making this a lovely child-friendly walk.

If they don’t have energy to go on a long country walk, you can bring your blanket and picnic along to enjoy the great outdoors.

Visitors to the estate can enjoy the woodlands, nature centre, ice well, formal gardens and wildflower meadows.

3pm: Swimming Lesson

If your baby isn’t completely worn out, you can take them to an Aquatots pool, in Sidcup, Beckenham or Lewisham.

Aquatots provides unique training, which is delivered through a rewarding, fun based learning system over 24 levels designed especially for Babies, Toddlers and Children.

The system is a complete, safe, enjoyable easy way of learning water safety and swimming whilst having fun.

Your child can spend the afternoon having fun as well as learning an invaluable skill.
It also gives parents the opportunity to meet new families and parents.

This fun-packed day will not only prevent a day stuck inside watching TV, but will also ensure they get an early night as the day almost guarantees a tired child by the end of it.
