A FREE ride is designed to get women on their bikes in Bromley.
For the second year running, British Cycling’s Breeze Network is holding the Big Breeze Bike Ride, with Bromley event leaving Cator Park in Aldersmead Road in Beckenham from 10.30am on Sunday, June 23.
Organised by Breeze champions, the event – and ones like it nationwide – will see like-minded women setting up rides to share the two-wheeled fun.
The ride will meet by the flagpole inside the park, opposite the preschool.
Olympic Silver medallist and Breeze ambassador Jess Varnish said: “The best thing about cycling is that anyone can do it, and in whatever form they like.
“I’m looking forward to seeing more women riding bikes and, most importantly, enjoying every moment.”
Book onto the ride at breezebikerides.com. If you don’t have a bike, that’s no problem – the website has a Find a Bike option.
Still not sure? Breeze has more reasons why cycling could be for you:
• It’s cheaper than therapy – Breeze cyclists regularly report increased levels of happiness
- You can finally buy those Louboutins – cycling can save you an average of £500 / year compared with driving or taking public transport (and your legs will look great too)
• It’s more fun than getting your injections - regular cyclists take around a day and a half fewer sick days every year than their non-cycling counterparts
• Cake tastes really good – an eight mile Breeze bike ride uses an average 400 calories which is almost enough to burn off a second slice of Victoria sponge
