NIMBLE feet will take to streets, parks, libraries, museums and more across Greenwich in a six-week dance festival.

The Royal Greenwich Festivals: Greenwich Dances encompasses a roster of performances and workshops from May 17 to June 27 which includes Dancing Streets (June 20) where Woolwich High Street will explode with dancing young people and Dance at Dusk (June 14), an outdoor screening of Grease at The Tudor Barn in Eltham with performances and a workshop.

Greenwich Dance, which celebrates its 20th birthday this year, will co-ordinate the festival. Interim Artistic Director Kat Bridge said: “This year’s festival will be bigger and better than ever. Whatever your age, whatever your style, there’s something for everyone. From the small and intimate, to the big and bold, we have events to move, inspire, surprise and excite. So come along and experience the power of dance.”

Opening the festival will be Greenwich Dance’s 20th Birthday Cabaret at The Borough Hall on May 17.

Later in the festival, a company of 10 dancers will dance continuously for 100 hours in Nobody’s Baby Dance Marathon by award-winning choreographer Arthur Pita’s Open Heart Productions at The Borough Hall (June 2 to 7). Audiences can come and watch or watch via live-stream with Frank Moon and his band playing live at selected sessions.
