We are getting ready to go “ooh” and “aah” over the next few nights with the annual Bonfire Night fireworks celebrations taking place.

Here is our guide to the displays happening across south-east London and north Kent.

Blackheath, Lewisham and Greenwich: Blackheath Common, November 3, from 8pm: Being one of the greatest free events in the capital, Blackheath attracts around 100,000 visitors yearly to enjoy an array of fireworks on the common.

As well as an exhilarating display, a funfair is open from 4pm along with food stalls and a fully licensed bar, which will be open before and after the display.

To safeguard the future of Blackheath Fireworks Lewisham Council is asking visitors and local businesses to donate to support the event by doing so online or “chuck it in the bucket.” Donations can be made by credit/debit card online or by giving cash to one of the volunteer Blackheath Bucket Brigade on the night.
