Any Avengers fan will know that only the worthy can lift Thor’s hammer – and it seems there haven’t been many in Greenwich this week.

Arriving from his home planet of Asgard, the iconic hammer Mjolnir appeared inside the The O2, allowing fans and families the chance to test their superpowers before a host of comic book superheroes touch down for Marvel Universe Live! Super Heroes Assemble this September.

The show – at the O2 from September 15 to 25 – features over 50 cast members including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Loki in a live, action-packed arena performance full of stunts, pyrotechnics and cutting-edge special effects.

Hundreds of fans attempted to lift Thor’s mighty hammer and only a few were successful. If you weren’t one of them, don’t worry because you are in good company. Most of the Avengers couldn’t either (as you'll see in the video below).

Of course, it's not the first time Thor has visited Greenwich - who could forget him smashing up the Old Royal Naval College in 2013's Thor 2: The Dark World?
