With just hours until the curtain goes up in Dartford, the stars of Terence Rattigan’s epic wartime romance Flare Path took some time out for some 1940s-style tea in Crayford.
Actresses Polly Hughes (Maudie) and Emma Carter (Betty) visited Vintage Lindy Lou Café in Waterside Gardens this afternoon for tea and cake before taking to the stage at the Orchard Theatre this evening.
Based on Rattigan’s own wartime experiences, Flare Path is set in 1942 and tells the story of former actress Patricia, whose marriage to RAF pilot Teddy is tested by the surprise arrival of her ex-lover and a dangerous mission.
It is at the Orchard Theatre until Saturday, April 9. Go to orchardtheatre.co.uk or call 01322 220000.
