There will be no strings attached when barmy Balkan brothers Boris and Sergey arrive in SE10 with one aim - to send thrills and chills through Greenwich theatregoers this Halloween.

Flabbergast Theatre roll up for two nights with the spectacular Boris & Sergey's Astonishing Freakatorium.

News Shopper:

Following their sold-out shows at the Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringes, the puppetry’s duo Boris and Sergey will be hoping to wow south east London.

Their vaudeville mish-mash is going to be dark, weird and full of fun and mischief as the five-star reviews from the Fringes proved.

Assistant Director and puppeteer Dylan Tate said: “Boris and Sergey host a series of shows where they comically attempt to trick and scam the audience in some way.

News Shopper:

“They work brilliantly together because they’re the classic clown duo.

“Boris is the little annoying brother while Sergey is the more sensible and serious one.

“Boris makes the audience laugh which irritates Sergey even more.”

Flabbergast Theatre has been going for five years – from performing in Soho to the sunny heights of Australia.

The two featureless madcap puppets, both 1ft 6ins, are each controlled by three puppeteers with no strings.

News Shopper:

Mr Tate voices Sergey and controls his head while others take the body and legs.

The 24-year-old added: “We never wanted to give the puppets any features because we project emotions onto them and the audience love it.

“Boris and Sergey have the ability to change from a range of emotions – they’ll go from a funny cock fight to performing a séance.

“So the sudden switch to darker scenes will suit the Halloween theme down to a tee.

“The crowd will go through so many emotions– they’ll love, hate and pity them within the first five minutes of the show.”

News Shopper:

During this Flabbergast Theatre production, there will be times when you won’t know whether to grab a pitchfork or burst out laughing.

Mr Tate also revealed that the production will have an improvisation session where hecklers are welcome.
