Love was in the air as Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, visited Hall Place in Bexley yesterday.

The goddess, played by actress Hannah Boyce, prepared for the Gods Have Talent competition – part of her starring role in Horrible Histories’ Groovy Greeks - by hanging out with some owls at the beautiful Bexley house and grounds.

Based on author Terry Deary’s successful books, the Horrible Histories stage shows come to the Orchard Theatre in Dartford from Thursday to Monday.

MORE THEATRE AND COMEDY:

They are performing Incredible Invaders – about Saxons, Vikings, Romans and Britain’s other invaders – and Groovy Greeks. Both shows feature larger than life characters and 3D Bogglevision special effects.

Writer and director Neal Foster said: “I had a hugely exciting time bringing the Groovy Greeks to life in Horrible Histories style and loved shining the spotlight on Celtic, Roman, Saxon and Viking life in Incredible Invaders. Both shows feature special amazing 3D effects that provide a spectacular way for both children and adults to enter these extraordinary historical periods”
