We have all felt like checking in at some point and now the Heartbreak Hotel has actually opened up in Greenwich.

A ‘Utopia for lost souls and broken hearts’, the intricately designed purpose-built structure at the Greenwich Peninsula is a unique and immersive theatre experience.

Audiences can check-in at the concierge desk opposite the North Greenwich tube station for a show which starts off on foot, leading to an abandoned industrial jetty which has been turned into the hotel which is ‘as dilapidated and mysterious as the characters within its walls’.

MORE THEATRE AND COMEDY:

The show is put on by Zebedee Productions and Managing Mayhem.

Zebedee’s Zoe Wellman said: “Parts of the show are quite surreal but the characters and the experiences are all very human. Audience members are in for an emotional rollercoaster as we explore what it means to be Heartbroken, and the lengths people will go to overcome it. Unlike other immersive productions, where you have to hunt for the narrative, we bring the story to you.”

Heartbreak Hotel is at The Jetty – where there is also a pop-up cocktail bar, street food and spectacular views – from today (June 2). Tickets cost from £10. Go to heartbreakhoteljetty.com
