Comedians from Welling and Bromley have both made it through to the final of a London-wide stand-up competition.

Mark Daniels from Welling and Tom White, aka Ezzra Poundland, from Bromley are among the 13 finalists in the Fosters-sponsored Golden Jester Comedy Awards.

The competition started in February and more than 650 people took part in an attempt to win the £1000 cash prize or one of four £250 runners-up awards.

Both comedians will perform a five minute set at the final on Tuesday, October 14, in front of a crowd and a panel of judges at Belushis in Hammersmith.

Mark Daniels said: “I've only been doing comedy for just over a year, so I'm over the moon to be in the final. It's a great confidence boost.

"Being in the final makes me think that, in a very polite, unassuming, coy British way, I might be, you know, a little bit funny. Maybe.”

Ezzra said: “When I was younger my mum always said to me: 'Ezzra? Don't talk to strangers and never put plastic bags over your head!'.

“Well, luckily I chose to ignore her advice because if I'd never talked to strangers then I never would have reached the final of the Golden Jester's Comedy Competition! Although, to be fair, she was right about plastic bags."
