Make a statement with your hair

Make a confident entrance with statement hair that is as much a part of your look as your clothes and accessories. Work on these five ideas to get you going.

1. Go for a sense of drama with a bold new colour. It's the most fun way of achieving the wow factor.

Remember, eye-catching doesn't have to mean opting for an all-over fashion shade in vibrant red or violet! A glimpse of brilliance in a hidden panel of colour revealed only as you move your head can be very impactful.

Or for a more oomph effect, push your hair to one side, change your parting or sweep hair into a ponytail or updo to show off your new daring side.

2. The bolder shapes popular in shorter cuts of this coming spring/summer season are fabulous statement makers. Think filmstar Louise Brookes silky bobs - sharp lines and superb shine are key - while models Agyness Deyn and Erin O'Connor inspire crops and chops which offer two highly different yet each utterly fantastic ways to capture admiring glances.

3. Of course, statement hair needn't mean severe. When putting up longer hair, once you've put up and pinned sections in place, or pulled all the hair back and secured in place with a band, you can pull free random pieces to create tendrils around your hairline which soften the look on your face.

Or try gently running a brush up and down the hair that lies against your head where it's been drawn back to create a less harsh finish.

4. Experiment with ponytails and buns secured or pinned off to one side for a quirky and intriguing look.

It's the statement that says I'm not afraid to be individual.

5. In order to fix that new look so that your statement stays put, we suggest Clynol's Stay Strong spray, it's designed to provide long-lasting, strong hold, its micro-fine formulation dries quickly and without stickiness leaving hair with a controlled, yet natural, finish.
