FOLLOWING on from the success of a thrilling and dark play, The Last Stop, the Harlequin Players’ next production will be an all-time favourite, Bouncers, by John Godber, which opens on Wednesday, December 7.

Set in the ‘90s, Bouncers is an observational comedy, which bursts with imagination and runs at a furious pace.

It allows the audience to delve into a hilarious and outrageous parody of the nightclub scene through the eyes of four bouncers.

Although only four actors are required for this play, they take up the challenge of performing multiple roles throughout the evening, encompassing an entire cross-section of disco goers, from lads on the pull, girls dancing around handbags, Hooray Henrys, pogo-ing punks and drunken slobs, which will inevitably strike a chord with audience members and result in a lot of laughter and smiles.

The talented and versatile cast consists of Harlequin regulars Matt Lambert (An Ideal Husband, A Servant to Two Masters), Andy Jordan (Macbeth, Bedroom Farce, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest) and Dylan White (Early One Morning, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Abigail’s Party). The Harlequin Players also welcome newcomer David Rogerson onto the stage.

The play is directed by Mike Kelsall, who is no stranger to comedy.

This will be the second time he will be working with the Harlequin Theatre, after a successful run of the Ray Cooney farce It Runs in the Family earlier this year, for which he was nominated for two Cheshire Theatre Guild awards, and was the recipient for best comedy interactions.

Bouncers is sure to be a fun-packed evening’s entertainment, and opens at the Harlequin Theatre, Queen Street, Northwich, on Wednesday, December 7, and runs until Saturday, December 10.

The show starts at 7.45pm each evening and does contain some strong language and some adult themes.

Tickets are available via harlequinplayers.com or by telephone on 01606 246831.
