Staffie given oxygen after rescue from Eltham house fire
A DOG had to be given oxygen after being rescued from a house fire in Eltham last night (April 15).
The animal called Bailey, which is believed to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was suffering from smoke inhalation when firefighters got it out of the property in Dairsie Road.
It was then taken to a PDSA vet in Abbey Wood and is believed to be making a good recovery.
Firefighters took around 30 minutes to put out the blaze in the semi-detached house.
Around half of the ground floor was damaged by the fire and there was considerable smoke damage in the rest of the property.
The cause of the fire, which started in the living room, is now under investigation.
