HELP was on hand for Bromley dog lovers at an event promoting responsible ownership.

The canine care day in Bromley High Street was a chance for dog owners to get advice and tips on how to be responsible with their pets.

Experts from Battersea dogs and cats home and the RSPCA were on hand to offer advice and free dog micro-chipping and pet tag engraving.

The council’s parks team were also giving out free scoop bags to encourage people to clean up after their dogs.

Portfolio holder for public protection and safety Councillor Tim Stevens said: “Owning and caring for a dog is a huge responsibility.

"While most dog owners are responsible people, we want to encourage all dog owners to follow their example and help us make a clean, safe and pleasant environment for everyone using the borough’s parks and open spaces.”
