CATS with or without hats may want to know that a collection of art by Dr Seuss will very soon be on the loose.
Or for those new to Dr Seuss, a free exhibition of art work by Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr Seuss is his pen name) is opening this week
While all the popular pieces (as pictured), made famous by his best-selling books for children, will no doubt be fascinating, it is the little seen secret' and personal art adult fans will find more tempting than Green Eggs and Ham.
As well as the zany art and rhymes he created for children, Seuss was a keen political commentator, which will be clear in his more satirical drawings.
As well as a range of prints, poetry, adverts,
cartoons and an unorthodox taxidermy sculpture, the
exhibit will also have all manner of Dr Seuss-related activities for visitors. These include a reading room,
storytelling sessions, hat-making workshops for youngsters and character design for adults plus an appearance from the Cat in the Hat.
At Croydon Clocktower, Katherine Street. June 28 to Sep 20.
