A WINDOW cleaner turned commercially acclaimed artist has revisited his roots in a new collection of paintings. The contemporary painter Alexander Millar, explores the industrial towns of northern England, especially Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and the baggy suit and flat-cap wearing working-class gadgies who worked there in Northern Soul, now on display at Bluewater Castle Galleries.
Alex said: "I began to yearn for the comforting blanket of nostalgia and how life used to be for me in the small mining community of Springside.
"It is my earnest wish these new paintings touch people deeply and bring back to their lives happy memories of times past."
Northern Soul is now on display at the Castle Galleries, Bluewater, Greenhithe.
