A GUIDED tour of the Crystal Palace site and remains is taking place next Sunday (May 6).

The tour will include the six large stone sphinxes that once guarded the garden entrance to the Palace and the remains of the Orangery.

It will also include the Victorian outside dancing platform plus many other existing features which completely or partially survived the 1936 fire that destroyed the Palace.

On the tour people will also be able to get a glimpse of one of the most intriguing original features within the site as well as learning about the 160 year mystery behind its purpose.

The guided tour starts from the Crystal Palace Museum, Anerley Hill, Crystal Palace, at noon.

Tickets cost £3.50 and are available from the museum on the day, concessions apply.
