LARGE scale watercolours representing a man’s experiences growing up in Jamaica and England are going on show at a mental health hospital’s art gallery.
The exhibition entitled Bridge over Troubled Water features imaginary scenes by the current resident of Bethlem Royal Hospital, who is known as Barrington.
It is the first solo exhibition by the artist and opens to the public tomorrow (February 9) and runs until March 2.
Barrington said: “My painting gives me great pleasure, and a way of expressing myself and my experiences in life.”
Visitors can see the show at the hospital gallery in Monks Orchard Road, Beckenham, on Wednesdays to Fridays from 11am to 6pm and on Saturday (February 11) it is also open during the same hours.
