Fascinating and fun outdoor arts projects are coming to Deptford this month, starting with  a chance to build a massive tower.

The Albany Theatre and Circulate’s Outdoor Arts starts this weekend with The People’s Tower.

The free event is the chance to build a unique, temporary tower in Deptford without cranes or machines, just human power. Help assemble it on Saturday or help is grow before bringing it down on Sunday.

There will be drop-in workshops in Douglas Square on Saturday and The Albany Garden on Sunday, while Sunday also includes live music from British-Bengali band Khiyo and mesmerising performance from Circus Outside the Box.

It is free for all ages and you don’t need to book, just turn up.

Next Weekend, Hellicar and Lewis join forces with The Albany for Remembering the Future, which uses motion capture technology to transport your ‘reflection’ into a new, futuristic reality.

That’s in Giffin Square from 3pm on Saturday, August 15. Again it is free and you can just turn up.
