MUSIC – Yasiin Bey plays J. Dilla at IndigO2 on Thursday
The artist formerly known as Mos Def will perform an evening of classic tracks from the back catalogue of legendary hip hop producer J Dilla.
It’s a totally unique show dedicated to one of the art form’s most respected talents, who worked alongside the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, Madlib and MF Doom and inspired others such as Kanye West. Tickets from £26.40. Go to axs.com

GARDENING – Cobham Gardeners Summer Show and Plant Sale on Saturday from 2pm at The Meadow Room in The Street
Pick up gardening tips and a selection of colourful plants and take the chance to view entries to the competitions, including flowers, veg and hanging baskets. Entry is free and there will be tea, coffee and cakes on sale alongside plants.
COMEDY – Rob Beckett and Nathan Caton at the Bridge House Theatre, Penge, on Thursday
Catch early Edinburgh preview shows from two top comedians – Mottingham’s cheeky chappy Rob Beckett, who you may have seen on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now, and the charismatic and laid back Nathan Caton. Tickets cost £10. Go to bhtheatre.com
FILM – Jurassic World (12) out Thursday.
Stephen Spielberg’s groundbreaking Dino-terror series gets a refresh courtesy of director Colin Trevorrow and stars Guardians of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt.
After the disasters of the first three movies, the dream of opening a dinosaur theme park has been realised but, in order to keep the punters coming, scientists start tinkering with genetics to create bigger and better beasts. We’re guessing it’s not a complete success.
