Creator of Queer as Folk and the revival of Dr Who, Russell T Davies has created three interlinked shows – one for Channel 4, one for E4 and an online documentary (Tofu).

Drama series Cucumber (C4) and Banana (E4) start on Thursday exploring the pitfalls and passions of 21st century gay life. Cucumber follows 46-year-old Henry and long-term boyfriend Lance who embark on a disastrous date night, after which their lives will never be the same again. In Banana, Dean is young and has a flat, a job and all the sex he wants but his problems are catching up with him.
