Vibe serves up five great reasons – the cold and darkness notwithstanding - to stay in this week.
TV – Cyberbully, 9pm on Thursday (January 15) on Channel 4
Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark, actress Maisie Williams plays a teenage girl battling with an anonymous cyber-stalker.
DVD – Boyhood (15), out Monday (January 19)
Directed by Richard Linklater, this groundbreaking drama starring Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke, was one of the picks of last year’s cinema and is sure to win bags of awards. It was filmed over 12 years with the same cast and follows the progress of Mason (Ellar Coltrane) who progresses from a child to young man while coping with his parents’ divorce and other difficulties growing up.
RADIO – Mustn’t Grumble: The Noble British Art of Complaining, 8pm on Saturday (January 17) on BBC Radio 4
Writer Bidisha explores how complaining has become an important part of British life. She visits an English language school where students learn to hedge an apology ‘I’m terribly sorry but...’ and hears from experts and contributors on topics such as complaints through history and why people never complain to a hairdresser.
GAME - Citizens of Earth, out Tuesday (January 20) on PC, PS4, PS Vita, WiiU and 3DS
A tongue-in-cheek retro role playing game where you take control of the newly-elected Vice President of the World who goes back home post-election for some taxpayer funded rest. After just one night, he awakes to find the world gone haywire. You have to investigate why and, of course, delegate as much of the dirty work as possible.
TV – Mel and Sue, weekdays at 4pm on ITV1
The Bake Off presenting duo, whose Late Lunch was legendary, step away from the tent and over to ITV to launch their first chat show in 16 years. Expect lots of fun and chat with celebs, unsung heroes and people from the news. There’ll also be a chef cooking up a feast. Today (Wednesday), Mel and Sue’s former warm-up man turned X Factor host Dermot O’Leary is a guest alongside the Birds of a Feather stars. Embarrassing Bodies’ Dr Christian Jessen and Jo Brand stop by on Friday.
