Organisers are celebrating the success of the fourth annual Chislehurst Rocks music festival.

Festival goers enjoyed a free day of live music and sunshine in Walden Recreation Ground on Saturday (September 9).

The Friends of Chislehurst Recreation Ground (FOCRG) thanked local businesses, residents and The Big Lottery Fund for helping them to get the festival off the ground for the fourth year running.

The lineup included music to suit all tastes from reggae to pop to punk rock, cover bands and acoustic sets.

The festival also featured a vintage car and trike exhibition, ponies to ride and a talking, dancing portable toilet named, Barry Maniloo.

Rachelle Harte of Lollipop Events said: “Lollipops are very proud to sponsor Chislehurst Rocks. We are very lucky to have such a huge amount of musical talent in the area.”

She said the event received fantastic support from local musicians, the council, police, residents and businesses.

“It is great to see so many people of all ages and backgrounds getting together to put this event on and of course coming along and enjoying themselves on the day,” she said.

Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Julian Benington presented the festival’s musical director, Paul Driver, with Bromley’s Unsung Hero award on the day.

The award recognizes individuals and organisations that have made a significant contribution to making Bromley a safer place to live, work and visit.

The FOCRG are looking for 100 businesses and residents to pledge £100 a year to secure the event’s future. To find out more visit: www.chislehurstrocks.co.uk
