Visitors to day three of the Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Festival can see The Queen’s row barge Gloriana leading a royal pageant up the Thames.

Gloriana will row up the River from Maritime Greenwich with an escort of traditional rowing boats, starting at 11.30am, subject to tides.

The pageant will be followed by races for the Trinity House 500 Challenge and the spectacular parade is expected to last around 90 minutes.

Today marks the half-way point of the Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Festival.

Hundreds of thousands of visitors have flocked to Greenwich during the last two days where more than 50 stunning Tall Ships are berthed along the River Thames.

Visitors have been making the most of the packed programme of events and attractions, both on the river and on shore, across four festival sites.

The fun and festivities continue today with the ongoing programme of events which includes outdoor music and theatre performances, tall ships visits and the chance to sail up the River Thames on board a Tall Ship plus ongoing Tall Ships exhibitions and displays at the borough’s best known attractions.

The Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Festival 2014 takes place across four different sites; Maritime Greenwich, Greenwich Peninsula, Royal Arsenal, Woolwich and Wood Wharf, Canary Wharf.

Public transport is by far the best way to get to the festival and to move around the four main sites. For more information go to tfl.gov.uk/tall-ships
